Welcome To the Solids Liquids and Gases Website!
Introduction:
Welcome! On this website you will complete a web-quest in which you will complete many activities that will help you learn many new things about solids, liquids, and gases. You will learn about how the properties of solids, liquids, and gases are all around us and related to current environmental issues. Global warming is a huge environmental problem that is greatly impacting our world. Global warming is when Carbon Dioxide is released into the air which traps heat in the atmosphere and causes Earth to be warmed. This is becoming a problem in places like Antarctica, where the ice is melting and many polar animals are losing their sources for homes and food. We need your help to stop this problem! Using your knowledge about solids, liquids, and gases you can help stop this problem. Environmentalist groups are trying to stop global warming from happening in places like Antarctica. Help the environmentalist groups from overcoming this problem by explaining how solids, liquids, and gasses work and their properties of matter, mass and density by completing the tasks below.
Task
Additional Information about each task along with a student example of each specific task and the evaluation table on how it will be graded is provided at the top of the page on the link for each task. Before you start on the tasks please visit the link below and watch the Introduction video below on the importance of understanding solids, liquids, and gases and how they play a major role in global warming.

Task
- Your first task is to complete the pre-assesment quiz on solids, liquids, and gases and their properties. This quiz will be used to show how much you do and do not know before getting into more in depth material about solids, liquids, and gases. This quiz will also be taken at the end of the process to show how much you have learned
- Your second task is to create a PowerPoint presentation about the three different states of matter. You will conduct research on the three different states of matter and compile your research into an educational PowerPoint. Your PowerPoint will be graded on how effectively you convey the knowledge learned
- Your third task is to write a brief research paper on global warming and how solids, liquids, and gases play a major role in global warming. Research this on the internet and find an article that relates these issues that you can use in your paper. Your paper should address the following topics: global warming (what is it?), the states of matter that play a role in global warming, the impact of global warming on the Earth, and why keeping the Earth's water in balance is an important issue.
- Your final task is to create a Prezi Presentation that informs students about the following issues: global warming concept, changes in states of matter, the impact on the changes of states of matter on the ozone layer and water cycle, and at least one thing you advocate to the human population on how to overcome global warming.

Conclusion:
After completing each task should understand the significance of global warming and how it effects everyone on Earth. You should also understand how solids, liquids, and gases play a role in global warming and why it is important to know about this role. It is important to understand global warming so that you can help stop the threat of global warming on the environment. There are several simple steps that you and your family can take to make the threat of global warming less severe. Global warming is a very serious issue that needs to be stopped with your help.
